Dawet Ringin “PAK BARDI” is a traditional street-side dawet stall that sits modestly in the middle of the street, offering a slice of local refreshment culture in its most authentic form. Known among locals and visitors for its old-school charm and affordable price, this spot has become a casual stop for those seeking a quick and nostalgic treat on a hot day.
The dawet itself is pretty good—what stands out is the use of real brown sugar, which adds a deep, natural sweetness to the drink. The texture of the dawet is decent, and it’s served with simplicity, just as you’d expect from a traditional setup. However, for my personal taste, while enjoyable, it didn’t quite hit the mark in terms of flavor complexity or freshness compared to other dawet I’ve tried elsewhere.
What makes this place particularly appealing is its price point. At only around 5,000 rupiah per cup, it’s a great budget-friendly option to cool down. The roadside location, while adding to the local vibe, might not be the most comfortable for everyone—especially if you’re looking for a place to sit and relax.
Overall, Dawet Ringin “PAK BARDI” is worth trying if you’re in the area and curious about traditional local beverages. It might not become your favorite, but it’s an affordable and culturally rich experience that reflects the simplicity and charm of Javanese...

Dawet sor ringin Pak Bardi sets in the middle of the road, just under the big banyan tree. You can see there are lots of small bees on the counter. The transparent dawet is made from sago with silky & smooth texture pudding-like but softer. I like to drink it atraightaway without chewing it.
This dessert drink is top-notch. I can tell they use unprocessed freshly squeezed coconut milk. No added preservatives nor coloring for all of the ingridients, including the coconut sugar syrup. All natural. The sweet drink itself tasted very refreshing.
Try the original dawet first, then go for the one with additional sweet & acidic tape ketan—fermented sticky rice that said good for your skin—to experience both variants.
